Sheboygan, Wis.(WHBL) - The Sheboygan Transit Commission will try again. The Sheboygan public bus system will now be known as Shoreline Metro. The Commission last fall - in a marketing effort to become more regional and enhance its image and increase ridership - had changed the name to Lakeshore Metro. However, Lakeshore Transportation - a small company which serves the needs of the elderly and disabled - complained that the new name was causing confusion. Transit Director Ron McDonald said the Commission wanted to avoid any litigation, and to be a good neighbor, and decided to choose Shoreline Metro as the new name. City buses will now be re-lettered at a cost of $250 per bus.
