NEW YORK (Reuters) - Boston Bruins left wing Daniel Paille has been suspended four games by the NHL for an illegal head shot on Dallas Stars forward Raymond Sawada, the league said on Friday.
Paille connected with a blindside hit to Sawada's shoulder and head during the second period of Thursday's game and was given a major penalty and game misconduct for the incident.
He will forfeit $23,118 as a result of the hit, according to a report on the league's website (www.nhl.com).
Sawada, who was carrying the puck into the Boston zone when he was hit by Paille, got up on his own but did not return to the game.
