(Reuters) - The New York Yankees will bring back right-handed starting pitcher Freddy Garcia for another season, announcing on Friday they had signed the Venezuelan to a one-year contract.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The 35-year-old Garcia proved to be a bargain free agent last winter, signing with the Yankees for $1.5 million and posting a 12-8 record with a 3.62 earned run average.
Garcia, a two-time American League All-Star, has a 145-95 record with a 4.09 ERA over his 13-year Major League Baseball career.
