MADISON (WSAU) The UW School of Medicine and Public Health has refused a newspaper's request for information about doctors who were disciplined for handing out fake medical excuses during union sick-outs last February and March.
The Wisconsin State Journal requested details on 22 doctors who'd been involved in the protest. The school would only say that at least 12 were reprimanded, but that one case is still pending. The school would not release more information until all the cases were resolved.
Several doctors were seen on street corners handing out notes to teachers and other protestors who called in sick to take part in widespread demonstrations in Madison.
