The ultimate ""Hey, it's that guy"" actorStephen Root signed on to appear in Raising Hope. Root will play the father of Sabrina (Shannon Woodward), the grocery store cashier who is the object of Jimmy's affections. Does this mean that Sabrina will be bringing Jimmy home to meet the parents? I'm not sure, but I don't think his ""I'm raising my executed criminal ex-girlfriend's love child"" backstory will necessarily impress.
Root is one of Hollywood's most prolific character actors, with memorable roles on NewsRadio, The West Wing, and Pushing Daisies. Plus, he was the red stapler guy in Office Space.
Other guest stars appearing in season two include internet sensation Greyson Chance, who'll play a younger version of Jimmy.
Season Two of Raising Hope, which stars Lucas Neff, Martha Plimpton, and Garrett Dillahunt, will premiere Tuesday, Sept. 20 on Fox.
