KANSAS CITY, MO (WKZO)--Justin Verlander threw five hits in seven innings en rout to a 4-3 Tigers win. Miguel Cabrera and Victor Martinez drove in runs in the 1st innings, giving Detroit a 2-0 lead early. Martinez would single again in the third to make it 3-0 and Magglio Ordonez had an RBI of his own.

The win marks Verlander's 16th on the season, and 99th of his career and he is now 13-2 vs. Kansas City.

The Tigers will again face the Royals, Sunday in Kansas City starting at 2 p.m. on 590 WKZO.
