SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - A veteran Sheboygan Police officer is retiring. Captain Jim Veeser announced that Lt. Tim Eirich will retire as of Friday after 33 years with the department. Eirich began his career as a patrol officer in May of 1978. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 1990 and was highly involved in the coordination and development of the DARE program, Special Olympics and was a board member for the Truancy Abatement and Crime Suppression Program. In 1999 Eirich graduated from the FBI National Academy. He was involved in numerous education programs within the department over the years and was the project manager for the construction of the present Police Department Building. He also served as Interim Police Chief following the retirement of Chief Dave Kirk. Eirich lives in Sheboygan with his wife, Debra and is the proud father of two sons.
