WAUSAU, Wis. (WTAQ) - A specialty concrete manufacturer near Wausau has agreed to pay a quarter-million dollars to settle a state lawsuit.
The Justice Department said today it settled a legal case against Wausau Tile of Rothschild for violations of air pollution and hazardous waste laws between 2004-and-’07. The DNR said the company had 16 violations.
They included using more volatile organic compounds than its permit had allowed – too many emissions of volatile compounds on a daily basis – and not following an abatement and malfunction plan.
