MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WTAQ) - Susan Sarandon will be honored in Milwaukee this weekend.
She’ll be given a career achievement award at the Milwaukee Film Festival on Saturday. A question and answer session will take place after a showing of the 1991 film “Thelma and Louise” at the Oriental Theatre.
The event’s director, Jonathan Jackson, says it will give the festival a chance to present an “iconic” film, and to honor a “legendary screen actress.”
Sarandon won the Oscar for Best Actress in 1996 for the film “Dead Man Walking.” And she has 4 other Academy Award nominations.
It’s the second straight the year the festival is honoring an Oscar winner. Martin Landau was recognized a year ago. The Milwaukee Film Festival begins Thursday and runs through October 3rd.
