MADISON, Wis. (WTAQ) - A leading opponent of gay marriage in Wisconsin has endorsed Republican Sean Duffy for the north central Wisconsin House seat.
Juliane Appling’s support is noteworthy, because primary opponent Dan Mielke has called Duffy soft on the subject. Duffy appeared in a parody film many years ago about a gay couple who was getting married.
The movie was called “The Wedding Video.” Duffy says it’s not consistent with his values, and he supports the constitutional ban on gay marriage that Wisconsin voters passed in 2006 with Appling’s help.
Appling says Duffy supports traditional marriage, and he’s in the best position to defeat Democrat Julie Lassa for the House seat to be given up by Democrat Dave Obey.
