FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WTAQ) - Nobody was hurt after a handgun accidentally went off at a crowded gun show during the weekend in Fond du Lac.
Police said a man in his 70’s was showing the weapon to a vendor when it fired. Officials said the bullet shattered a glass display case, but it did not hit anyone.
Everyone entering the gun show is supposed to have their weapons checked at the door, to make sure they’re empty. But police said the man didn’t want to wait – so a friend helped him bypass the security check.
He was cited for firing a weapon in the Fond du Lac city limits.
