MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WTAQ) - Crews will keep digging Wednesday outside a home in Milwaukee where a mother believes that her daughter’s remains might be buried.
Tuesday, workers found what appeared to be bone fragments, teeth, and hair. And the mother – Karren Kraemer of Oconomowoc – is convinced they belong to her 23-year-old daughter Becky Marzo, who lived in the home where the digging took place. Marzo disappeared in 2003. She was living at the time with Carl Rodgers, who was said to be her abusive boyfriend. He killed himself in 2007, while denying that he had anything to do with the disappearance of Marzo.
But both Kraemer and Rodgers’ stepmother say they believe Rodgers did kill Marzo. The current search is taking place at an underground fallout shelter sealed by concrete. Kraemer said she asked Milwaukee Police in 2004 to excavate the shelter – but officers refused to do, saying there was not evidence that a crime was committed.
