MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WTAQ) - Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn says his department is investigating four homicides that are connected. At a press conference Sunday, Flynn revealed 19-year-old Brittney Robertson's death is being considered a homicide.
Robertson's body was found on the city's northwest side Friday evening. WTMJ-TV reports this comes after the people Robertson lived with, 24-year-old Rachel Thompson and two of her son's, ages 4 and 3, were found murdered inside a duplex set on fire early Friday. Authorities were seeking Robertson as a person of interest in the deaths of Thompson and her two sons, but found her dead from a gunshot wound.
Flynn insists authorities have identified the suspects and are continuing to follow leads. "These homicides are the result of a small group of interconnected people known to each other," Flynn says. "None of these events were random acts, none of these threats represent a threat to the larger community. "
6-week-old Maurice Visor, Thompson's youngest son, was reported missing on Friday but was found safe in his child seat outside a church. Anyone with information is urged to call authorities at (414) 935-7360.
