MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WTAQ) - The family of a 15-year-old boy made its first visit Tuesday to a downtown Milwaukee parking ramp where the boy was killed by falling concrete.
Jared Kellner’s family hugged each other, and kneeled at a makeshift memorial. His mother Dawn told reporters that her son wanted the world to be a “kinder place.” And she asked people to honor Jared’s memorial by being nicer and more accepting of others.
Jared Kellner was walking out of the O’Donnell Park ramp on his way to Summerfest last Thursday, when a 30-foot slab of concrete fell from the second floor to the ground below. Jared was killed and 2 others were hurt. Tuesday, crews are removing a section of the ramp where the mishap occurred. Experts will inspect it, to see if it can help determine what caused the incident.
