MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WTAQ) - A trial has been delayed again for a Milwaukee man charged with killing 7 female prostitutes in just over two decades.
49-year-old Walter Ellis was originally scheduled to go on trial last month. But his new lawyer, Alejandro Lockwood, said he needed more time to prepare – and the trial was reset for October 4th.
Now, it’s been pushed back to February 7th after Lockwood said he needed even more time. Lockwood asked for another year to get ready, but Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Rebecca Dallet rejected that. Ellis’s trial is expected to last 3 weeks. A hearing on pre-trial requests will be held July 23rd.
