PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. (WTAQ) - The Three “M” Company has agreed to pay 150 thousand dollars to settle an air pollution lawsuit at its plant in southwest Wisconsin.

State Attorney General J B Van Hollen said the Three “M” plant in Prairie du Chien modified one of its air pollution sources without getting a required permit. The Justice Department also accused the company of not following a plan to guarantee that certain machinery meets air pollution limits.

Van Hollen said Three “M” which makes cellophane tape among other things agreed to finish two projects designed to reduce carbon dioxide emissions at the Prairie du Chien facility. Officials say Three “M” currently meets the guidelines of it's current air pollution permit.
