BROWNSVILLE, Tex. (WTAQ) - A man wanted for killing 2 people in Milwaukee has been arrested in Texas.
Police said 25-year-old Philip Mora shot and killed 20-year-old Benjamin Nunez and 47-year-old Salvador Chavarin on January 23rd outside the Club Carona on Milwaukee’s south side.
Friday, police said Mora was arrested in Brownsville Texas, after he apparently fled to Mexico right after the shootings. He’ll need to be extradited back to Wisconsin in order to face 2 counts of first-degree intentional homicide, and possessing a firearm as a previously-convicted felon. The charges were filed this week.
Prosecutors said Mora and another man might have tried to rob the 2 murder victims as they left the tavern. Both Nunez and Chavarin were shot multiple times.
