MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WTAQ) - A Milwaukee man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for shooting and injuring a police officer.
23-year-old London Stewart will also spend 15 years under extended supervision once he gets out. He shot Milwaukee police officer James Jekanoski in the arm last September, while that officer and others were entering a home on a search warrant.
Stewart is indirectly connected to the case of Walter Ellis, the Milwaukee man who’s awaiting trial in the murders of 7 women over a period of 21 years. Stewart’s mother, Florence McCormick, died in 1995 – allegedly at the hands of Ellis.
