MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WTAQ) - Don’t be surprised to see the Autobots and Decepticons doing battle in downtown Milwaukee.
The movie “Transformers 3” is filming a scene Monday and Tuesday at the Milwaukee Art Museum on Lake Michigan. The museum is closed during the shooting. About 50 paid extras are working with a crew of about 150.
The museum and its white Calatrava design are Milwaukee’s tourist symbol, and local officials hope the national exposure from the movie will bring even more folks to town.
Paul Upchurch of Visit Milwaukee says the production is expected to bring $1 million to Metro Milwaukee in the payments of salaries, equipment, fuel, food, and hotel charges.
