MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WTAQ) - Milwaukee went almost 3 weeks without a homicide in the New Year. But that changed last weekend, when 3 murders were recorded. Two people who were shot outside a south side Milwaukee tavern early Saturday have been identified as 20-year-old Benjamin Nunez and 47-year-old Salvador Chavarin. Police were still looking for suspects at last word.
Meanwhile, 36-year-old Demetric Scott has been charged with Milwaukee’s first homicide of 2010. Prosecutors said he beat and kicked Steve Allen last Wednesday night in a dispute over property. Allen died at a hospital 2 days later. His age was not immediately released. Scott is jail under a $100,000 bond on a charge of felony murder.
