MADISON, Wis. (WTAQ) - Soldiers who were in Iraq during last fall’s Wisconsin gun deer hunt would get their own season next month under a new bill in the Legislature. Assembly Democrat Chris Danou of Trempealeau says a special hunt would be a great way to thank the 3,200 members of the National Guard’s Red Arrow Brigade who are coming home this month. A 4-day hunt for the returning soldiers would take place February 4th through 7th. One of the Red Arrow officers wrote lawmakers to ask for the special hunt. Sergeant Kevin Johnson said his troops missed a chance to provide venison for their families.
