UNDATED (WSAU) Two men are due in court on Monday after they were stopped for a traffic violation near La Crosse, and a drug-sniffing dog found 23 pounds of marijuana. The Wisconsin State Patrol said it stopped a rental car on Interstate-90 on Tuesday afternoon for having an obstructed windshield. And a police dog from the town of Campbell later sniffed out 15 bags of marijuana in a pair of suitcases.
Officials said the men were apparently heading from the state of Oregon to Madison – and their G-P-S indicated they didn’t know where they were going. Also, they said the car had air fresheners apparently to hide the smell of marijuana – and it didn’t work.
One suspect is 28 from Appleton, and is being held on a 20-thousand-dollar cash bond. The other man is 24 from Madison, with a five-thousand-dollar bond. They face possible charges of possessing illegal drugs with the intent to deliver.
