MADISON, Wis. (WTAQ) - Monday is National Gun Control Protest Day – and in Wisconsin, authorities are trying to keep that protest out of the State Capitol. Signs on the Capitol doors read “No Firearms Allowed.” The signs remind people it’s against the law to carry firearms in the Capitol without approval.
Violators could face $1,000 penalty, with a $500 fine for concealing a weapon. State officials have not commented further. There’s a Facebook page about the gun control protest day which says, “Take your stand at your State Capitol, high noon.” The page also reminds folks to abide by state laws.
