MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WTAQ) - A 3-month-old Milwaukee girl is the latest infant to die after sleeping in the same bed with a parent. A medical examiner’s report was released Monday in the death of Keilysha Ruiz. The child’s mother told authorities that she, her baby daughter, and her 2-year-old son slept together early Sunday. The mother tried to feed the baby at one point – but she wouldn’t drink from her bottle, so they went back to sleep. The baby was found unresponsive later that day. The cause of death is still being investigated. Milwaukee has had a city-wide campaign to discourage so-called “co-sleeping.”
