MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WTAQ) - A Milwaukee teen has been sentenced to 8 years in prison for killing a boy and injuring another while driving drunk. 18-year-old Xavier Solano was also ordered Monday to spend 6 years under extended supervision once he’s no longer behind bars. And he has to pay over $11,000 in restitution. Authorities said Solano’s vehicle struck and killed 16-year-old Justin Montes and severely injured 17-year-old Michael Deal last July. The 2 were standing on a south side street in Milwaukee. Solano had pleaded no contest to causing homicide and injury by drunk driving. He had told police he could not recall getting into a crash. His blood alcohol level at the time was 0.18 – over twice the legal limit.
