The stars of Friends beat Seinfeld and M*A*S*H for the best comedy cast and The West Wing's ensemble trounced the competition in the Best Drama vote.

The political drama's stars claimed 37 per cent of the TV Guide vote - 16 per cent more than Lost.

E.R. and The Sopranos also made the list.
