WASHINGTON COUNTY, Wis. (WTAQ) - Two men killed in a chain reaction crash on a freeway in southeast Wisconsin have been identified as 57-year-old Ronald Brien and 58-year-old John Will, both of Fond du Lac.
Washington County authorities said a semi-truck slammed into 3 vehicles that were stopped due to an earlier crash. One of those three vehicles struck a fourth unit. It happened Wednesday near Allenton on Highway 41.
Brien was killed in the first SUV the trucker hit. Will died in another SUV driven by his wife Shanna. She was in critical condition at last word at a Milwaukee hospital.
3 others were hurt, including the trucker. One of those in the other vehicles was still hospitalized in satisfactory condition, while the other two were treated and later released.
The Fond du Lac Reporter said Brien spent 30 years supervising auditors and accountants, and was a past president of the local Noon Optimist club. Will worked in maintenance for 35 years in the North Fond du Lac school district. He was also the president of a youth baseball organization.
