SALT LAKE CITY (Reuters) - A bus carrying Japanese tourists rolled off an interstate highway in Utah, killing three people and injuring 12, some seriously, state police said on Tuesday.
Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Cameron Roden told Reuters it was not known why the bus veered off the road into the median early on Monday evening. Investigators were looking into the accident.
Some of those injured suffered life-threatening wounds while others had minor scrapes. Several passengers were ejected from the bus, Roden said, without elaborating.
All were being treated at Utah hospitals.
The bus was en route to Bryce Canyon National Park, a popular tourist destination.
