MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WTAQ) - Milwaukee Police shot and killed a 47-year-old man Wednesday night, as he was allegedly threatening a woman with a knife. Police Chief Ed Flynn said officers responded after getting a complaint that the man violated a restraining order by seeing the woman.
Flynn said 2 officers confronted the man – and they shot him after he did not follow their orders to drop his knife. One of the officers was a 31-year-old woman who’s been on the Milwaukee Police force for 7 years. The other was a 28-year-old man with 1 year in the department.
Both officers will handle administrative duties while police and the district attorney’s office investigate. The suspect died at the scene. The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on Milwaukee’s south side, on the same street where police shot and killed another man last month.
