MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WTAQ) - A Milwaukee alderman wants to create a task force to help African-American men find jobs. The U.S. Census Bureau says almost half of Milwaukee’s black men did not have jobs in 2008.
Alderman Tony Zielinski says that’s unacceptable – and the city needs to create employment opportunities for blacks. He expects the Common Council to act on his proposal in May.
The task force would have 17 members who represent business and professional groups, community organizations, and groups from the education and faith-based sectors. By banding together, he says those leaders could make real progress.
