MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WTAQ) - In Milwaukee, sheriff’s deputies had to use pepper spray to subdue a man who had just learned he was sentenced to life in prison for killing a UWM student. 3 deputies wrestled 19-year-old Seandell Jackson to the ground, after his violent reaction in court Friday morning. His relatives screamed when learning of the sentence, and they were ushered out of the courtroom.
Jackson was sentenced to life with no chance for parole or supervised release. A jury convicted him of being a party to homicide and armed robbery for an attack on 21-year-old Nathan Potter last July. The UW-Milwaukee film student was shot once in the chest, while walking near his apartment. A second defendant, Derek Thomas, was to be sentenced Friday afternoon. He pleaded guilty last month.
