MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WTAQ) - The Milwaukee County District Attorney’s office will consider charges against a 59-year-old woman whose car struck and killed a 5-year-old girl. It happened Wednesday at a corner in front of the Greendale Village Hall.
Police said the woman turned right at a stop sign, and struck the girl and her 29-year-old mother. The mother was treated at a hospital for minor injuries. 2 other family members were not injured. The victims’ names were not immediately released. Police said the girl and her brother were walking bicycles across the street at the time of the incident. The driver was found a short time later, a few blocks away.
Officers said the woman apparently did not realize what she did – and she was not trying to leave the scene on purpose. Investigators do not believe alcohol was involved, either. The driver was released after officers questioned her.
