MILWAUKEE (WRN) - A Milwaukee woman is a Rhodes Scholar. Eva Lam is a senior at Harvard, majoring in social studies. She’s among 32 Americans selected to study at the University of Oxford in England for the next 2 to 3 years with all expenses paid. The winners were among 805 applicants who were nominated by almost 330 U.S. colleges and universities. The Rhoades Scholarships were started in 1902 by the estate of Cecil Rhodes, a philanthropist from England. Among other things, the winners are chosen for their academic achievement, leadership potential, and integrity.
