MILWAUKEE (WRN) - A 19-year-old Milwaukee woman will be sentenced January 13th for leaving her newborn daughter in a diaper bag on a neighbor’s car. Rosa Freeman pleaded guilty to child abandonment, and a reckless endangerment charge was dropped in a plea bargain. She gave birth in her home on April 5th. The next day, she left the bag containing the baby on the hood of a car about a block away. Cleveland Scott picked up the bag as he was going to work – and he left it by a recycling container where his wife Vivian Peterson found it a couple hours later. She called police after discovering the baby inside. Milwaukee’s Child Welfare Bureau took custody.
