MILWAUKEE (WRN) - A state lawmaker for over a quarter-century says he’ll run for Wisconsin lieutenant governor. Senator Spencer Coggs of Milwaukee became the 4th Democrat to announce his bid for the job being given up by Democrat Barbara Lawton. Coggs has spent 7 years in the Senate, and 20 years in the Assembly before that. His current 4 year term has 2 years left – so if he loses for lieutenant governor, he won’t have to give up his Senate post. The field of candidates will be reduced in a primary next September.
