Wisconsin will soon have the world’s largest maker of mining equipment. Bucyrus (boo-sigh’-rus) International of South Milwaukee said last night it will buy the mining division of Terex Corporation for one-point-three billion dollars. The two firms have 10-thousand employees in 100 locations worldwide. C-E-O Tim Sullivan says both product lines will be managed in South Milwaukee. And by the time the companies are fully merged in 2012, up to 500 more factory-and-office jobs could be added in the region. Bucyrus makes the world’s largest mining machines.
