MILWAUKEE (WRN) - A Milwaukee man who spent 3 years in prison for the molesting of a 12-year-old girl is now free. 24-year-old Christopher Burrowes was exonerated this week, after the girl changed her story. Burrowes’ 3-year-old daughter watched police take her father away in early 2006. He was convicted of first-degree child sex assault, was sent to prison, and had his name placed on the state’s public list of sex offenders. But now, prosecutors said the girl blamed Burrowes in order to protect a relative she was having sex with at the time. She recently recanted her story – and prosecutors are deciding whether to charge her with perjury. She’s now 16.
