WASHINGTON D.C. (WRN) - The eastern half of Wisconsin is one step closer to getting a new federal prosecutor. The U.S. Senate’s Judiciary Committee endorsed the nomination of James Santelle Thursday morning to become the next U.S. attorney in Milwaukee. Santelle is currently an assistant federal prosecutor in Milwaukee. The judiciary panel okayed the nomination on a voice vote, and sent it to the full Senate for final action. Santelle would replace Steve Biskupic, who resigned earlier this year and became a private lawyer.
