MILWAUKEE (WRN) - Anthony Peters has a trial date set for February 15th, but his lawyers are still trying to work out a plea deal for him. Peters is the 20-year-old man accused of attacking Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett outside the Wisconsin State Fair last August. He was in court last week for a hearing. His attorney says Peters has undergone a mental health evaluation after entering an instanity plea to the 4 charges he faces. Peters is accused of hitting Mayor Barrett several times with a metal object after Barrett had intervened in a loud argument between the defendant and the grandmother is his 1-year-old child.
