WESTON, Wis. (WSAU) – The Senate majority leader is calling on the DNR to fire its wildlife management after a dismal deer hunting season.
Weston Democrat Russ Decker says he talked with hunters and business owners who said the last two gun deer hunting seasons have been disasters. He says the DNR has been told that their deer population estimates were off.
Decker hunts in Lincoln county and says his party simply didn't see many deer...
He says excuses he heard about poor hunting conditions don't wash, as he says he's hunted successfully in thunderstorms and blizzard-like conditions.
