Actually, I don't think the time will be right, ever. Do stores have Pearl Harbor Day specials? I don't think so. A defender of the golf course says the criticism isn't fair because they were simply trying to honor the victims of 9/11. Nonsense. Do President's Day sales "honor" Washington and Lincoln? Of course not. They commercialize them (by the way, there was a day when even that was controversial).
Fox News has this right; this was tone deaf. Very few people will see this as honoring the dead of 9/11. it doesn't. As to whether the golf course's response is adequate, I'm not sure what more they should do at this point. But commercializing an event where thousands died is probably never a good idea.
