Politico points out that he hasn't moderated his positions , just his combativeness. The line that some people privately believe he was humbled by the backlash from the shutdown strategy is interesting. It's obvious to me that he's taking a completely different approach with fellow Republicans and conservatives.
It's clear Cruz learned that you can't succeed without leadership behind whatever plan you want to implement. Cruz needs to learn that until he's leadership he needs to sell leadership on a plan, not confront them. Let's see if this is the new Ted Cruz.
