rom the comments I have read, I seem to be one of the few people OK with this.
The NFL is ratcheting up security next season. Already facing pat downs and metal detectors, fans will now be limited in the type of bags they can bring. In fact, they're being discouraged from bringing any bags at all.
Despite the empty cries of personal freedom, I think this is a brilliant move. It will greatly speed up those cumbersome bag-check lines. Just think about all the junk you see people bring to games = all gone. No stumbling over coolers. No seats taken up with bulky bags. No tripping over straps that stick out from under seats. Oh, by the way, there will be a much, much smaller chance of some miscreant sneaking a weapon or a bomb into a game.
I know I will feel a little safer in this crazy world. You should, too. And, hey, if you don't like the new rules, no one is forcing you to go to the game.
