NFL.com's Ian Rappaport is reporting today the Green Bay Packers will be releasing Charles Woodson.  Woodson just finished his 15th NFL season, his seventh with the Packers.  He missed 10 games last year with a broken collarbone, returning for the playoff loss against the San Francisco 49ers.  Woodson signed as a free agent after spending the first 8 years of his career with the Oakland Raiders.  After a chilly start in Green Bay over his role with the team, Woodson's career hit new heights as a Packer, winning the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year award in 2009.   He had 38 interceptions as a Packer, and scored a dozen defensive touchdowns.  Aside from his play on the field, Woodson was the quintessential locker room leader.  The Packers moved Woodson off his traditional cornerback position in 2012, having him play safety and inside nickel positions instead.    Woodson is scheduled to earn 10 million dollars in 2013 and the team must feel that price is too high for a player who turned 36 last October.  The team has not formally announced the release and while Woodson will be free to negotiate with any NFL team, there may not be many willing to meet that same salary cap figure and he could return to the Packers on a restructured deal.
