The Secret to a Successful Marriage?

Posted by Kelly Meyer on

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control came out this week with a report that included some interesting findings on marriage, including:

--The odds of a first marriage lasting 10 years or longer are better for couples of the same race.

-- Almost 80 percent of couples in their first marriage who have their first child at least eight months after getting married are likely to see their marriage last at least 10 years.  Those who don't have children are more than TWICE as likely not to last 10 years.

-- About 75 percent of marriages between men and women 26 years old or older last at least 10 years, compared with only about half of teen marriages.

Just some food for thought.
