Did anyone struggle to get through their Sunday now that football is over? I sure did. It was just a weird feeling.
Every Sunday since September has revolved around gametime. Each Sunday if you planned on making special food for the game, you made sure you were up and out of bed and had enough time to get to the grocery store and get the food made prior to kickoff. You made sure (at least I did) that nothing else was planned except for football-watching on Sundays. And now that it's over, we're forced to try to find something else to occupy our time. I know, the Olympics are going on. There was the Daytona 500 and the NBA All-Star game as well. But none of that quite does it for me. I've never been a NASCAR fan. I don't mind checking out local racing from time to time, but I've just never gotten into NASCAR. I used to be a huge NBA fan back in the '80's. But basketball is different now and I couldn't care less.
I know I go through this every year, but it's harder this year for some reason. Unfortunately, there is nothing to really replace the adrenaline rush and emotional attachment to football for me. It gets easier as time goes along during the offseason. It certainly will help as the weather improves, too. Of course, if this is like most years, we have about three months yet before that happens.
