From WFRV, Channel 5 in Green Bay. So, the sequester will close a Menominee Indian School. As I write this the story is breaking that President Obama is threatening to veto any bill that would give him more flexibility in applying the mandated cuts. I have to admit that after November 6,  I have little faith in the American public smelling reality when they're stepping in it. But a blind person could see the cynicism here.

In President Obama's world, House Republicans are "threatening" to give him flexibility to make these cuts less painful. This is so obvious that I find it hard to believe he would do it. But then again, will the public understand what such a move means? I have called this a "Cuban Missile Crisis" moment, where JFK finally didn't back down and Kruschev realized he made a mistake in putting the missiles in Cuba. It's looking to be that moment between President Obama and Congress.

Republicans have caved every time. Now they aren't. Obama isn't sure what to do. Stories such as this one feed the "Scaremegeddon" narrative. What if the public does finally figure out who is driving this?
