Spain agrees that any child one of its citizens adopts from Morocco will be raised to age 18 as a Muslim. This is extortion; nothing more, nothing less. If a child is to be adopted out of poverty it must be raised as a Muslim. And if a family wants a child to love, they must give up the right to choose which religion, if any, that child will follow. This would be wrong irrespective of the religion being forced upon the adopting parents. Can you imagine the media attention this story would get if a country guaranteed that adopted children would be raised as Christians?
