That the Des Moines Register has endorsed a Republican candidate for President. As I've said previously, I don't think newspaper endorsements have much impact today; I don't know that they ever have. But papers flipping from Obama in '08 is noteworthy and the has been a number of them. The Register endorsing a Republican for the first time in 40 yeras is certainly noteworthy. By the way, the Green Bay Press Gazette is also endorsing Romney today.
