Further evidence Team Obama is still in full campaign mode. Here's the delicious irony in this stupid gimmick. The President is pushing the meme that the middle class should tell Congress what it could do with an extra $2,000 it will get from an extension of the Bush tax cuts. In other words, fight for  your $2,000. This is a rare occassion where a liberal sees money not taxed as the citizen's money. 

Tax breaks for the wealthy are seen as "giveaways" and "gifts" to people who don't need it. Certainly it's not framed as those people getting to keep their own money. But that's exactly how Obama is framing this debate. Let the middle class keep more of their own money. But we don't need to give away money to the rich. Once again, Orwell smiles.

And a footnote; this sounds like the same stupid gimmicky "WIN" buttons of the early 70's, Whip Inflation Now. And yes, that was a Republican idea.
